Overall it's a nice shot, the only real issue is the level of grain, while it's a nice effect and fit's well with the photo's theme, it does make the laptop more difficult to make out than what it should probably be (I'll be honest when i say that i did'nt notice it untill i read the title) it may be an idea to try using a wider depth of field, acheivable through aperture controll, or perhaps a different lens, speaking of which, may i ask wich lens you used for this piece?
Like i said, overall it's a nice photo and it does portray the concept you described; if you were to make any changes i'd say bring the laptop a little bit more into focus, especially the keyboard.
Well, first thanks for all that well reasoned critics, it's really useful to me to see viewer's reactions to my images.
For this picture I've been told about the dof making difficult to see at first sight it is a laptop and a hand, maybe I should have used a smaller aperture. I'll have this in mind whenever I shoot again pictures of similar style.
nice. I can't really complain about it. you've got an interesting story being told... breakfast and some computer-ing... and an unconventional angle too.

Nice work

The lens here is the Canon EF 50mm f1.8, at f1.8.

Gotta love the thrifty-50
